PROJECT OVERVIEW

For this project I decided to create and engineer a small robot that could be driven around using a computer or mobile device, and additionally would have the ability to be programed to do whatever I want. To do this I had to do a lot of planning to figure out what parts and devices I would need to complete the project. This turned out to be great learning experience for me, because I had to do research on parts and software drivers that I had never worked with before. It also helped me become a better planner, which will help me immensely with future engineering project. I was able to design and fabricate a model of R2D2 making it possible to fit a microcomputer inside him. I wrote software that will take a webcam feed from R2’s head and display it through a user interface. Writing the software took the longest to do, and I had many barriers through that process. The rest of the processes went fairly smooth, but were still quite time consuming. In the end I learned just how rewarding it can be to finally solve a problem that seems to be unsolvable. I learned that you may fail more than a few time before you find the correct answer, so you just have to keep giving it your all until to solution is presented.
